More about me…
I was born in London and lived there for the first 20 years of my life. Growing up I loved helping people, listening and supporting them through their challenges. As a teenager I found myself trying to sooth the problems that arose in our family. My mum always told me “you should be a counsellor”.
Australia becomes my home. I have worked in a number of different jobs over the years, from banks to retail. After having my children, I decided to pursue nursing. During my experiences as a nurse and especially nursing in the aged care setting, I felt that the emotional state of many patients was often overlooked. Experiencing this oversight in the health care sector reignited my passion for helping people and I launched myself into a new career in Counselling. I started by studying a Diploma of Counselling. Completing the diploma made me realise there was so much more to learn, and I commenced training as a crisis telephone supporter for Lifeline. Within months I had enrolled to do a Counselling degree.
I love my role as a partner to my husband and I have three beautiful children. I love all animals great and small and I absolutely adore donkeys. I try to make all my overseas trips include a visit to a Donkey Sanctuary. I still love to travel, meeting new people and seeing new places. I like nothing better than to be in the company of my family. I incorporate exercise into my life with gym, tennis, hiking and dog walking.
